Local tips

- The islands are reached by ferry. The Virtsu to Kuivastu boat to Saaremaa is about 26 euro for a car; book ahead at praamid.ee in summer.
- For Hiiumaa, take the Rohukula to Heltermaa ferry, also bookable online.
- Winter or studded tyres are required from December to March, and any time it is icy.
