Czechia uses a fully electronic vignette tied to your plate, with no sticker since 2021. Cameras and police read plates to check it. You only need it on motorways (the D-roads) and expressways, not on ordinary roads. Prices are set in koruna (CZK).

Step by step
- Open edalnice.cz or the eDalnice app, not a reseller site.
- Type your plate and country of registration.
- Pick passenger car up to 3.5 t.
- Choose the period: 10-day, 30-day or annual.
- Set the start date. You can future-date it up to three months; it begins at midnight that day.
- Pay by card. Your plate is live in the system within minutes.
The traps to avoid
- Many sites outrank edalnice.cz and add a fee. Buy only from the official site or a real point of sale.
- The start date is final once it activates. Set today and an overnight arrival can burn a day before you drive.
- It is plate-linked, so a different rental car needs its own vignette.
- Electric and hydrogen cars are exempt but must register the exemption on edalnice.cz.

Local tips
- A cheaper 1-day vignette (about 9.50 euro) exists for a quick clip across the country.
- You can buy weeks ahead and set the exact start date, so it is sorted before you reach the border.
- Only the motorway and expressway network needs it. City roads and older two-lane roads are free.
- Rental cars sometimes come with a vignette already; check the agreement before buying a duplicate, which is not refundable.
